ADVANCED ACCESS CONTENT SYSTEM (AACS)
Security of your content is vital. The ability to encrypt content sent to the disc interface helps ensure content security and is essential for compliance with AACS specifications.
Content available when your disc is created can be signed with the certificate which is acquired for replication. This might include deleted scenes, alternate audio tracks or bonus videos which users may download through the disc.
If the content is not ready for encryption at the time of disc manufacture, it must be signed later by an authorized service. Only specific service providers, such as Technicolor, have the right to request, validate and apply AACS encryption certifications and key blocks. To enable users to make local copies of their disks, the Technicolor managed copy service, based on AACS Managed Copy specs, will be available in 2010.
