Patrick Kennedy Named Executive Vice President of Technicolor Electronic Distribution Services

BURBANK, Calif. — May 1, 2006 — Technicolor Electronic Distribution Services, part of the Services division of Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS), today announced it has appointed Patrick Kennedy as executive vice president. Technicolor Electronic Distribution Services provides managed services to enable content distribution over Internet protocol (IP) networks that allow customers to deliver differentiated content offerings.
Based in the company’s offices in Burbank, Calif., Kennedy is responsible for building and leading the company’s strategy, business plan and anticipated growth for digital distribution of content to all non-theatrical venues including video-on-demand (VoD), Internet protocol television (IPTV), satellite, wireless, electronic devices, and other related channels.
“Patrick Kennedy is an outstanding addition to the company,” said Joe Berchtold, president of Technicolor Electronic Distribution Services. “His digital entertainment experience, strategic vision and management skills are an important contribution, as we work to fulfill Thomson’s aggressive growth plan to expand the Electronic Distribution Services division.”
Immediately prior to joining Technicolor, Kennedy served as president of Graythwaite Hall Incorporated, where he provided consulting and product development assistance for emerging digital businesses. Before that, he held various senior management positions at Sony Corporation, where he was most recently executive vice president, Sony Pictures Digital Networks. In this position, he was responsible for managing technology, product development, sales and marketing functions across the digital entertainment group, and managed a team of approximately 350 people. Kennedy also served as a consultant for The Monitor Group, a strategy and management consulting firm.
Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he graduated Summa cum Laude, and a masters degree in electrical engineering from Stanford.
