Alexander Krüger

Senior Research & Development Engineer

Short Bio

I obtained the Dipl.-Math. degree (summa cum laude) in techno-mathematics from the University of Paderborn, Germany, in 2007. Thereafter, I joined its Department of Communications Engineering as a Research Staff Member, where I conducted research on multichannel speech enhancement as well as on robust speech recognition in the presence of reverberation. My work was supported by a scholarship of the Paderborn Institute for Scientific Computation (PaSCo) during the first three years. In 2011, I completed my thesis titled “Model-based feature enhancement for robust automatic speech recognition in presence of reverberation and background noise“ and received the Dr.-Ing. degree (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from the University of Paderborn.

After having worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research & Innovation Center of Technicolor in Hannover for one and a half year, I am currently holding the position of a Senior Research & Development Engineer, being engaged in research on spatial audio.

General research interests:

Statistical audio and speech signal processing, robust speech recognition
