Becky’s story

Becky Sullivan grew up in the San Fernando Valley and got her start in the industry working as a receptionist by day and assisting sound editors by night. She developed her craft with a focus automated dialogue replacement (ADR) and served as Supervising ADR Editor on acclaimed films like The Fugitive, L.A. Confidential, and Collateral, among many others.

Over the past decade, Sullivan shifted into the role of supervising sound editor. She has lead sound crews and collaborated with some of the world’s finest directors on Adam McKay’s The Big Short, Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, and shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Achievement in Sound Editing with Andrew DeCristofaro for their work on Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken. Sullivan says of the experience, “I remember being 7 years old, sitting in front of the TV watching the Oscars. So to be there, and to be one of a very [small] group of women who’ve ever been nominated – that feels pretty fantastic.”
