Ed Ham

Senior Editor

Meet Ed Ham, Senior Editor at Technicolor Toronto.

Ed first started at Medallion PFA in 1991 and has been an Online Editor/VFX Artist since 1987.  Among Ed’s biggest professional highlights are the opportunities to work on several seasons of award-winning series and he’s particularly proud when productions request that he work with them again and again.

Some of Ed’s favorite tools of the trade are Smoke by Autodesk, After Effects, and Nuke, and he also enjoys using the “Action” module (lighting, warping, compositing etc) and a combination of various Sparks.  He enjoys doing creative things on the Smoke and tries to find unique ways of giving the client everything they ask for and more.

Ed’s favorite film is Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas, and he also admires the work of Francis Ford Coppola and Tim Burton.  He considers the poem “Desiderata” the source of some of the best advice he’s ever been given on life in general.

An avid golfer (who has won several golf trophies) and musician, Ed considers Vince Gill to be one of his heroes, describing him as: musician extraordinaire, golfer extraordinaire, humanitarian extraordinaire.

When not at work, Ed likes to play, perform, and record live music, take in a round of golf, travel, and spend some time learning something new.
