Ed Taylor has been contributing to the Visual Effects industry for 17 years, with credits on some of the world’s highest grossing films. In the course of his enviable career he has been instrumental in the reimagining of several of cinema’s most iconic characters: Ed built Superman for Superman Returns (Bryan Singer), and modeled Spiderman for Spider-Man (Sam Raimi).

Ed started his career at ILM as a modeler then moved on to Sony Pictures Imageworks where he transitioned into a supervisory role, overseeing digital modeling for Polar Express, Superman Returns, Beowulf and Hancock. After leaving Sony Ed spent two years with Digital Domain, supervising the lookdev and models for Disney’s Tron: Legacy. From 2010 to 2016 Ed worked at Mr. X, as both a DFX and VFX Supervisor, working on The Three Musketeers, Guillermo Del Toro’s films Pacific Rim and Mama, Resident Evil Retribution and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Most recently Ed Supervised DFX for Season 1 of Showtime’s award winning series Penny Dreadful as well as acting as VFX Supervisor on Syfy/ Space’s Killjoys and the new ITV/FOX/SHAW series Houdini & Doyle.

Pulling from his impressive experience Ed effectively extracts a director’s vision. From concept design, pre-visualization, on-set supervision through to post Ed ensures that each Visual Effects moment is captured according to the established methodology.
