About us
The hub for our Los Angeles-based facilities resides at one of the most famous intersections in the entertainment industry – adjacent to Sunset and Gower, the location of the first motion picture studio in Hollywood. From this historic site, and after leading the industry in innovation for nearly one hundred years, Technicolor continues to serve and advance the convergence of processes and tools for every sector of the industry, from content creators, to content distributors, and into every channel of exhibition. An exceptional host of offerings include post-production, digital restoration, DVD & Blu-ray authoring, compression, subtitling, dubbing and much more.
With five floors of boutique-like digital production, serving the motion picture and broadcast industries, the facility showcases best-in-class talent, customer service and connectivity to its network of local and global operations, Technicolor Hollywood has redefined the creative possibilities in the rapidly evolving digital world.
Along with its most recent expansions, including the opening of our sound post-production aural playground on the Paramount Studios lot, its Hollywood location offers the best visual portfolio of service offerings in Los Angeles.
On the broadcast side of the business, and in alignment with our recent Laser Pacific acquisition, Technicolor is currently finishing nearly 40 broadcast shows. Providing the strongest team of the colorists in the industry, the company’s TV offering is complemented with a wide array of dailies services, including its on-location, on-set suite of tools created by an unparalleled team of color scientists and engineers.
Our motion picture team, likewise, features a remarkably diverse and talented group of Digital Intermediate artists. The theatrical team serves studio and independent projects alike – with industry-leading 3D tools and processes. A growing facet of the Hollywood facility includes theatrical trailer and marketing services for its studio customers. Our international versioning services are also managed from the Hollywood location – as is the company’s restoration and mastering offerings. Recent successes include: Breakfast at Tiffany’s; To Kill a Mockingbird; Le Voyage Dans La Lune; and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Technicolor Digital Cinema remains a fundamental part of the facility, maintaining its industry-leading position for the delivery of content, either through satellite or physical media.
Technicolor Media Services provides an array of post-production services to content owners, aggregators and distributors of digital content, to ensure the highest quality presentation is carried all the way through to digital consumption.
