Anvil, Technicolor’s London-based sound post facility, is currently working on the feature film Burke and Hare.
In what is proving to be a busy year for Anvil, the company will have delivered the entire sound post package for the film by the end of August.
Based on the true story about the famous murderers, Burke and Hare follows the hapless exploits of these two men as they fall into the highly profitable business of providing cadavers for the medical fraternity in 19th century Edinburgh, then the centre of medical learning.
Shot in Scotland and the Home Counties, the film is an Ealing Studios project and stars Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis as the eponymous grave robbers. It’s produced by Barnaby Thompson (St Trinian’s, Dorian Gray) and directed by John Landis (An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places).
Working closely with freelance sound editors Harry Barnes and Martin Cantwell, Anvil’s Adam Mendez recorded the ADR and Foley tracks, and then partnered senior re-recording mixer Gareth Bull to produce the Dolby Digital final mix.
