Technical Requirements
For the proper presentation of a Technicolor 3D System, Technicolor requires:
- The 2D operation of the underlying 35mm projection equipment to be in accordance with SMPTE specifications (available at www.smpte.org )
- The Technicolor 3D System and underlying 35mm projection equipment to be routinely cleaned and maintained to reasonably ensure the best possible on-going operation
- A Certified Technician to install and maintain the Technicolor 3D System to ensure optimal image quality and presentation
- An auditorium’s “Projection Throw to Scope Image Width” ratio to be between 1.55 and 3.74. For example, an auditorium with a projection throw of 70ft. and a scope image width of 35ft. would have a “Projection Throw to Scope Image Width” ratio of 2.00
- A Technicolor Approved Silver Screen manufactured by MDI/Strong, Harkness, Stewart Filmscreen, Hurley Screens, Big Sky Industries and Severtson Corporation
- An appropriate lamp, reflector, lamphouse/console, shutter, and power supply to generate sufficient light output for a quality 3D experience
- A proper lamp and lamphouse alignment to maximize light output and light balance across the screen
