Mark Betteridge

Senior Editor

Meet Mark Betteridge, Senior Editor at Technicolor Toronto.

Mark started out working as a transfer assistant in film dailies and soon thereafter jumped on the opportunity develop a new market for low- to mid-level budget editorial using his Final Cut Pro skills.  He has since worked on several successful series and features.

Among Mark’s professional accomplishments was the opportunity to play a key role in the development of new established workflows for digital media.  These workflows have helped create general guidelines for dailies through to post completion.

Professionally, Mark has been impressed with the versatility of the DaVinci Resolve, particularly in terms of working with Final Cut Pro and Avid Projects in the online process.  He says that “this tool allows us to quickly work with any digital medium, create and assemble DPX, online, and final color grade within the same project.”  Mark also likes to use Clipfinder, a smart tool that quickly assembles a digital library (Red, Alexa) and gives you all the necessary info to work efficiently.

Some of Mark’s biggest artistic influences are the filmmakers David Lynch, Stephen Spielberg, and David Cronenberg, as well as the surrealist artist, Salvador Dali.  While Indiana Jones is one of his favorite characters, his real hero is the late astronomer Carl Sagan.  Mark’s favorite film is Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

When not working, he enjoys weekend getaways and playing with his kids.
