Deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 solutions promises significant new value for cable operators and consumers of broadband services. These include not only much higher speeds, but also quality of experience, higher capacity on existing networks and energy efficiency. As the next-generation DOCSIS 3.1 cable standard emerges, Technicolor is among the first worldwide to deliver DOCSIS 3.1 products.

The CGM4230 cable gateway, which spearheads Technicolor’s new wave of DOCSIS 3.1 Connected Home devices, is designed to improve quality of service and experience in the home. Featuring two OFDM channels for downstream and upstream, this next-gen data solution is one of the first cable gateways to deliver downstream speeds up to 5 Gbps. This enhanced performance enables cable operators to deliver multi-gigabit triple-play services to customers for multiple applications, from IP connectivity to ultra-high speed Internet access and gaming.

Thanks to its DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 backwards compatibility, the CGM4230 can also be seamlessly deployed on existing infrastructure as a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, providing 32 bonded downstream and 8 bonded upstream channels. What’s more, the CGM4230 provides flexible DOCSIS 3.0/DOCSIS 3.1 upstream and downstream frequency up to 204 MHz split.

In addition to ultra-high speed Internet access anywhere in the home, the CGM4230 delivers the voice and video functions needed for all-IP migration. The CGM4230 multi-services platform gateway delivers full cable connectivity in the home and advanced value-added applications.
