Current Position:

Since December 2009, Dr. Uwe Riemann is holding the corporate position of “Manager Academic Partnerships & Collaborations” at Technicolor R&I Hannover.  He is mainly engaged in promoting and coordinating national and international collaboration projects with involvement of either German or European partner companies. Under his responsibility and guidance he promoted Hannover’s R&I activities related to the recently finished THESEUS project funded by the German Ministry of Economy and Technology as well as current European FP7 projects like “FascinatE”, TOSCA-MP, SCENE, and ICoSOLE (coming soon).

 

Short Bio:

Dr. Uwe Riemann received his Dipl.-Ing. (1984) and Dr.-Ing. degrees (1990) from the Institute of Telecommunication Engineering of the Technical University of Braunschweig. In 1989 he joined Deutsche Thomson-Brandt GmbH, a research laboratory and subsidiary of former Thomson Consumer Electronics, where he started his professional career as a development engineer in the field of analogue TV systems. He was promoted Lab Manager in 1995 and became responsible for several research projects in the area of digital television (DVB), digital home networking and network protocols for high-speed wide-area data transmission.
