Technicolor Shows VR/AR Mean Business at VR on the Lot
  • Immersive experiences ignite VR on the Lot as creative and technology leaders gather to explore their full potential.
  • Technicolor’s Marcie Jastrow and other industry leaders will present a new business model for VR, AR and beyond.

VR On The Lot is one of the industry’s go-to conferences for experiencing the latest VR and AR content, technology, and education. Participants gather from the worlds of movies, television, advertising, gaming, and more – as immersive experiences find creative outlets across an ever-widening scope of industries, such as education, retail, and healthcare. Last year’s debut of VR on the Lot proved so popular that it has moved to a venue with double the sound stage capacity.

Among the many topics covered are the various formats of immersive media (AR, VR, 360), production, cameras and other technology, distribution, and the business side of immersive content (“VROI”). On the latter theme, Technicolor – a sponsor at this year’s event – will be hosting a special panel for attendees: “A New Business Model: Discovering the Key to Monetization in VR, AR and Beyond.” The panel – which takes place Friday, October 13 at 9:25am, Oasis Theater - Soundstage 1 at The Lot Studios – features some of the industry’s most forward-looking thought leaders:

  • Marcie Jastrow, SVP Immersive Media and Head of the Technicolor Experience Center (TEC)
  • Ted Schilowitz, the first-ever futurist in residence at Paramount Pictures
  • Matthew Hooper, founding member of IME, Interactive Media & Entertainment Law

Moderating the panel is Technicolor’s Mark Turner, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships & Strategy – whose work with major companies includes a special focus on virtual and augmented realities.

Additionally, Logan Brown, Head of VR and Immersive Content, Moving Picture Company, will be speaking alongside thought leaders from AMD, RSA, and more on the "VR Franchises" panel, Saturday, October 14 at 1:10pm, Halliday Theater - Soundstage 2 at The Lot Studios.

Tim Dillon, Head of VR & Immersive Content, MPC, will be rounding out the panel on “AR/MR: Telling Stories Without the Screen,” featuring Here Be Dragons, MAP Design Lab, and Nokia, Saturday October 14 at 3:30pm, Oasis Theater - Soundstage 1 at The Lot Studios.

Some innovative partners from the Technicolor Experience Center (TEC) will also have a presence at VR on the Lot, including HP/Nvidia, Lytro, and Positron.
