Canadian Screen Awards 2014: Technicolor Montreal celebrates Best Overall Sound nomination

Re-recording mixer Stéphane Bergeron nominated for his work on the feature film Amsterdam.

We are proud to congratulate our Montreal-based re-recording mixer, Stéphane Bergeron on his nomination for Best Overall Sound for the feature film Amsterdam. This is Stéphane’s third Canadian Screen Award nomination (formerly known as the Genie Awards). He won a Genie Award in the same category for Polytechnique (2010) and was nominated for Marécages (2011). During the sound mix of Amsterdam, Stéphane was faced with the challenge of creating two distinctive ambiances to differentiate the two cities where the film takes place.

“It was crucial to separate both worlds to create two distinctive sound environments to preserve the essence of the film.” The nominated re-recording mixer also applauds his team’s accomplishment during the sound mix on the acclaimed project: “It’s been a project where everyone has shared their expertise and great leadership on many levels during the creative process of Amsterdam.

Technicolor worked with Attraction Images providing several services such as conform, color trim, packaging, DCP and full sound post-production. Technicolor Montreal is proud to have contributed to many nominated projects being recognized at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards.  The winners will be announced at the awards gala in Toronto on March 9th.
