Production Support for Game Change

Technicolor delivers for HBO's critically acclaimed project

It’s said that “politics makes for strange bedfellows” – and the 2008 Republican presidential campaign was certainly ripe material to use as the basis of a film that would illuminate where American politics resides.

Produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for HBO Films, and directed by Jay Roach, Game Change dramatizes the relationship between the 2008 Republican presidential ticket of Arizona senior Senator John McCain and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.  The film showcases a stellar cast of celebrated American actors, including Julianne Moore (as Ms. Palin), Ed Harris (as Senator McCain) and Woody Harrelson as Republican political advisor Steve Schmidt.

Adapted from the book by authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the production was photographed on location in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Baltimore, Maryland, and shot by cinematographer Jim Danault.

Technicolor provided the production technical support for the film’s digital dailies, then produced the film’s digital intermediate finish from the company’s Hollywood headquarters.

Working with Technicolor DI producer Bob Peishel, the color-grading chores were handled by senior digital colorist Michael Hatzer – with colorist Darren Wooldridge finishing the film’s downstream deliverables. Eric Ladd designed the film’s titles.

Technicolor’s Heidi Vogel served as the project’s sales rep.
