Skyfall Sound Mix and VFX

Director Sam Mendes has fashioned a James Bond film, Skyfall,  which rivals even the best of the singular franchise that spans back to the 1960s.  His telling presents visual action that is extraordinary in its fluidity and inventiveness - only balanced by the narrative panache of the film’s cast: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judy Dench, Albert Finney, etc.

The films’ below-the-line crafts are exceptional, with particular attention paid to the project’s basic production design and art direction, fully realized by cinematographer Roger Deakins, ASC, BSC, and the film’s sound mix – led by Technicolor’s Scott Millan and Greg Russell.

Millan met with producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson nearly two years before he and Russell started working on the film, along with supervising sound editors Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers to begin discussion and development of the project’s sound mix.

Technicolor’s sister visual effects division, MPC, under the guidance of VFX supervisor Arundi Asregadoo, and VFX producer Philip Greenlow led the company’s team of visual effects artists in delivering more than 300 shots.
