The Stars Align With Technicolor at TIFF ‘17

The stars are aligning for the Toronto International Film Festival, with a multitude of established artists and up-and-coming talent attending the 11-day movie marathon held September 7^th-17^th. With 339 films screening at TIFF ‘17, the event is hailed as a showcase for industry trailblazers and creative luminaries.

Technicolor worked on many of the films screening at the festival this year, including Aaron Sorkin’s high-stakes drama Molly’s Game. Other highly-touted offerings at this year’s festival include two star-studded projects that Technicolor worked on: Alexander Payne’s social satire Downsizing, which opened the recent Venice Film Festival; and Darkest Hour, starring Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill as he steps into the role of Britain’s Prime Minister under threat of Nazi invasion.

Technicolor will also participate in the industry panel, 2001: An Immersive Odyssey. Mr. X’s Senior VFX Supervisor Trey Harrell joins the discussion on immersive technologies and how they inform – and transform – the way we consume the stories we love in science fiction films.
