Technicolor at the NEM Summit

Technicolor, a platinum sponsor of the summit, had a booth on the show floor and also organized the FI-CONTENT future internet workshop

The fifth edition of the Networked & Electronic Media (NEM) Summit, held from October 16-18 in Istanbul, Turkey, focused on “Implementation of the Future Media Internet Towards New Horizons” through three business, scientific and technical tracks: New Digital Media Content, New Networked Media Experience, New Connected Media Worlds.

Technicolor, a platinum sponsor of the summit, had a booth on the show floor and also organized the FI-CONTENT future internet workshop. This workshop was the opportunity for the FI-CONTENT consortium to showcase a set of 12 critical enablers linked to use-cases (ie Clickable Video, Multi-users recommendation, Crowd Sourcing, Authentication for Connected TVs, Content Enrichment Platform, Bandwidth reservation for cinema streaming, Device-to-device content sharing, User Profile Broker, Federated social network) developed in the framework of the project www.fi-content.eu/

In addition, the Group also contributed to several European projects exhibited during this event:

-Chorus+: Coordinated approach to the European effort on audio-visual search engines www.ist-chorus.org/

-Fascinate: Development of a system to allow end-users to interactively view and navigate around an ultra-high resolution video panorama showing a live event www.fascinate-project.eu/

-Guide: Gentle User Interfaces for Elderly People www.guide-project.eu/

-Scene: Novel Scene representations for richer networked media http://3d-scene.eu/

-Theseus: New technologies for the Internet of Services; www.theseusproject.eu/ and through a round table dedicated to innovation ‘‘Innovation System in Europe: How the NEM Community Can Strengthen the Innovation?”

Technicolor was proud to receive the best demo award for the FI-CONTENT European project coordinated by Henri Fourdeux for the full set of demonstrations presented during the related workshop.

The NEM Summit is organized by the NEM Initiative (www.NEM-initiative.org) under the aegis of the European Commission (DG Connect); NEM initiative, chaired by Technicolor, is the industrial European Technology Platform dedicated to the Content field.
