Technicolor at Paramount officially unveiled

Technicolor at Paramount offers full service post production sound services for feature films, television broadcasts, DVDs and foreign language versioning.  Our new state-of-the-art complex provides studios, independent and documentary filmmakers, TV broadcasts and commercials an exceptional array of theatrical mixing teams and broadcast talent.

Housed in a 65,000 square foot facility, Technicolor at Paramount features fully-equipped theatrical mixing stages, ADR & foley stages and editorial suites. Clients have access to eight stages for re-recording mixing surrounded by fully equipped editing rooms and comfortable, relaxing lounges.   These stages are comprised of two large dubbing theaters, two medium dubbing stages and four television dubbing stages. “Compatibility between all eight stages is crucially important to us,” says Curt Behlmer, who oversaw the design and outfitting of Technicolor at Paramount. “Film and TV directors often require access to a number of stages during pre-dubs and print mastering, with mixes freely moving from stage to stage.”

In addition to on-site compatibility, productions will benefit from secure, high-speed worldwide connectivity, giving them convenient, cost-effective direct access to post talent and resources via our proprietary broadband network.   Clients will also be able to receive and playback footage from outside post houses (VFX, DI, etc), giving them the ability to work in real time within all sound mixing environments. Our screens at the new facility are also calibrated to Technicolor grading specs, helping ensure consistent quality throughout production. We make it easy for directors working on a mix to collaborate with Technicolor’s renowned colorists without having to leave the facility.

Along with our eight rerecording mixing stages, we also offer clients three large ADR stages and one Foley stage, as well as eight sound design rooms and 16 sound editorial rooms. Technicolor at Paramount is outfitted with the tools required to handle the latest multi-format audio needs in transfer and layback, as well as DVD audio and restoration, and mobile mixing through our Digital Mobile Re-Recording (DMR) Solution.

Award Winning Talent at the Helm

Technicolor at Paramount was designed not only to provide directors and producers with access to the best equipment, but access to the best talent as well.  Stage 1 is helmed by the theatrical sound mixing and re-recording team of Scott Millan and Greg Russell. Scott has won four Academy Awards for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing (The Bourne Ultimatum, Ray, Gladiator, Apollo 13), and has been nominated four additional times. Greg has received 15 Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing for his work on films such as Salt, Spider-Man, Pearl Harbor, Transformers, Apocalypto, The Mask of Zorro, The Rock and Black Rain.

Stage 2 is helmed by sound-rerecording mixers Anna Behlmer and Terry Porter.  Anna has garnered 10 Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing for her work on Star Trek, Blood Diamond, War of the Worlds, Moulin Rouge, The Thin Red Line, LA Confidential, Evita, Braveheart, The Last Samurai and Seabiscuit. Terry has been nominated for four Oscars for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Working alongside Scott, Greg, Anna and Terry is a team of first-class talent who are passionate about their work and experts at using the advanced equipment found in our new sound facility.

In addition to working with our brilliant team of sound mixers, Technicolor at Paramount clients will benefit from the most technologically advanced re-recording stages and equipment in the industry, as well as access to the restaurants, fitness center, and amenities that make the Paramount lot a top destination for TV and film productions in Hollywood.
