Technicolor, patron of the Dinard Film Festival

Technicolor, proud patron for the 24th British Film Festival of Dinard for the 2nd consecutive year.

Technicolor is glad to have renewed its participation in the British Film Festival of Dinard.

This Festival is first and foremost an opportunity for us to celebrate the movie business and its artists which we consistently support through the technologies and services we offer professionals from the media and movie industries the world over.

Our Creative Services team based in London delivered post-production services to four films screened at the Festival: Spike Island by Mat Whitecross, a movie part of the official selection as well as the previews of Jadoo by Amit Gupta, Summer in February by Christopher Menaul and For Those in Peril by Paul Wright.

As the official patron for this 24th edition, Technicolor hosted a workshop on Friday, October 4th at the Palais des Arts et du Festival centered around the theme: « 4K, Ultra High Definition, High Dynamic Range… - Which technologies for tomorrow’s movie experience? ».

Pierre Routhier, Vice-President and Post-Production Supervisor at Technicolor, began the workshop with a presentation on theses advanced imaging technologies which was then completed by 4K & Ultra HD demonstrations. Gilles Kerdreux, journalist at Ouest France moderated the debate with the aim of enlightening filmmakers with regards to the challenges of integrating these technologies, their current status in the industry as well as their relevance in the creative process.

During the fruitful discussion between producers and directors, a particular emphasis was placed on the importance of increasing cooperation between teams at the earlier stage of a project in order to allow for a quicker and smarter mastering of new emerging technologies.

Finally, Gary Donnan, EVP Research & Innovation, was honored to present Clio Barnard and her team with the Technicolor Best Cinematography Award to for their movie The Selfish Giant during the closing ceremony on Saturday, October 5th 2013.
