Technicolor Surpasses 200 Million Set-Top Boxes

Technicolor has become the first company worldwide to ship over 200 million set-top boxes to customers.

The 200 million milestone, attained in April 2015, confirms Technicolor’s strong market position and iron-clad commitment to supporting customers through constant technology and market evolution.

Two other important milestones have also been achieved in 2015: shipment of Technicolor’s 150 millionth broadband gateway in March, followed by 350 millionth CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) devices in April. The 300 million CPE landmark was reached only one year earlier.

It is thanks to a combination of employee commitment to quality and service and sustained customer loyalty that Technicolor has established itself as a leader in the market, ranked second worldwide for shipments of set-top boxes and first for satellite decoders.1

This year has been particularly rich for Technicolor’s market-leading innovation with first deliveries of Ultra HD 4Kp60 set-top boxes in India in early 2015, demonstrating the next-generation Ultra HD High Dynamic Range set-top box at INTX 2015, and unveiling Technicolor’s OTT design concept Cube S as selected by leading French pay-TV operator Canal+.

Building upon the success of its Amplify 2015 strategic plan, Technicolor Connected Home has now embarked on Drive 2020, an ambitious, follow-on strategic program that firmly places the company at the leading edge of digital innovation ready to take consumers to new levels of experience and excitement. Technicolor Connected Home is poised to further strengthen its position in emerging markets and expand its range of products and services.
