Technicolor Toronto Helps Create A Toronto “Slice Of Life” In Sleeping Giant

Technicolor Toronto offers complete picture post services and color finishing for Sleeping Giant.

Set in a northern Ontario cottage community during a bleak midsummer, Sleeping Giant follows three young boys as they take their first tentative steps into adolescence. Technicolor Toronto provided the film’s color finishing in addition to providing complete picture post services. Cinematographer James Klopko worked with Technicolor colorist Brett Trider to bring the rugged Canadian landscape to life. Working on the film, Trider commented, “The beautiful northern landscape is illuminated by James’ cinematography, [so] we focused on earthy natural tones to bring the lush locations to life.”

The film is being hailed as one of the most exciting Canadian feature debuts in recent memory and has won numerous awards on the 2015 festival circuit. Festival awards include the City of Toronto Awards for Best Canadian First Feature Film at TIFF and Best Canadian Film at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Additionally, Sleeping Giant picked up four nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Editing, and Best Supporting Actor. Sleeping Giant, the first feature from Canadian writer-director Andrew Cividino, is executive produced by Aeschylus Poulos and produced by Karen Harnisch.
