Thomson demonstrates line up of advanced set-top-box and gateway products linking consumer devices and digital services in LVCC Central Hall booth #13219

Paris (France) / CES Las Vegas, 7 January 2010 – Thomson/Technicolor (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS), a worldwide leader of services to content creators, will be showcasing its new line up of advanced set-top-boxes and gateways demonstrating its continued leadership and vision of tomorrow’s networked residential ecosystem at the 2010 International CES.

The world leader in customer premise equipment solutions, Thomson has developed an ecosystem of devices and applications that help network service providers integrate their video, voice and data offerings with consumer electronics and other residential services to deliver a cohesive, open digital media environment.

“Consumers are dictating the direction of digital services today, building elaborate home networks to gain access to premium content whenever, wherever and on whatever device they want. Thomson is arming our digital network operator customers with the tools they need to both meet subscriber demands for content freedom and significantly enhance their overall service package,” said Georges Laplanche, Senior Vice President, Connect Division, Thomson. “CES provides the ideal opportunity to experience these highly advanced, interactive digital home services before they’re launched by network operators in 2010.”

Leveraging Thomson’s wireless home Gateway Service Platforms, network service providers can offer their customers enriched communications, extended video experience, unleashed
digital lifestyle, automated home management services and managed digital content.

Accordingly, Thomson has divided their digital home experience at CES into these five important areas.  Some of the innovative services attendees will see include:

• Enriched Communications: Management of video communications, personalization of calling experience across different types of connected devices, and data synchronization between fixed and mobile communication devices

• Extended Video Experience:  Next-generation live and on-demand video experiences, made even more thrilling and interactive in 3D

• Unleashed Digital Lifestyle:  Allows direct infotainment accessibility as well as social networking enabling on any home device

• Automated Home Management:  Home energy tracking and room-by-room security monitoring via any screen in the consumer residence: TV, wireless tablet, and computer

• Managed Digital Content:  Seamlessly link everything from audio and video appliances to consumer cell phones and digital picture frame, enabling consumers to easily move personal content from multiple sources to multiple screens.

Additionally, Thomson will be showing how their open-standards software networking platform makes it easy for operators to develop unique customer applications, integrate them with installed consumer premise equipment, and make accessible via the TV and other connected devices. Through Thomson’s web APIs and application software development kit (SDK), service providers can provision a variety of their own or third party apps and deliver over their network.

New Products Launching at CES
Thomson will be also launching new products at CES to support these applications.
Leading up to and during CES, Thomson will be taking the wraps off the following new additions to their product portfolio:

• The TG1700, Thomson’s first super-fast, GPON telco gateway with integrated fiber module for video deployments in fiber-to-the-home networks, providing seamless broadcast television, interactive video and very high speed data and telephony services.

• The TG703, a new cost-effective VoIP xDSL home gateway device featuring all the modern functionality of a centralized wireless hub including reduced power consumption.

• The TG784n and TG797n, the next generation full service xDSL gateways, the first to offer comprehensive advanced functionality including fibre and copper connectivity, dual concurrent Wi-Fi channels to separate video distribution and data, and with the TG797n, Dect telephony in a single device.

• The 805 platform, third-generation, high-end, HD set-top box, tailored to the precise needs of either terrestrial or satellite operators, integrating embedded memory to enable over-the-top  (OTT) services and other functionalities including time shifting.
