Cable-Tec 2015 Report: Cable-Tec Visitors Discover Hot Technology

Technicolor was on hand to showcase a broad range of technologies encompassing current and future user experiences.

Known worldwide for its hot jazz, New Orleans was also noteworthy for hot cable technology this year as it hosted the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo. As part of their Cable-Tec experience, more than 100 visitors checked out the Technicolor booth and demo hospitality suite in the Crescent City to discover Technicolor’s full range of cable offerings in an interactive, immersive environment.

This year’s highlights included:

Innovative Video Solutions

Visitors discovered how to deliver a stunning, immersive picture and enhanced audio experiences by incorporating our latest solutions for HDR, 4K, and MPEG-H. They also enjoyed an opportunity to experience Virtual Reality content created by Technicolor’s own portfolio of creative studios.

Over-The-Top

Providers learned how to maximize entertainment quality by adding the intelligent LEA user interface to Android TV with versatile OTT and hybrid set-top boxes.

Integrated User Experiences

Operators learned how an open eco-system, such as that promoted by the AllSeen Alliance, makes it easier to deliver immersive content experiences. They also discovered the advantages of Technicolor’s IZE Digital Lifestyle.

Outstanding Gigabit speeds

The focal point for this year’s SCTE Expo was a demonstration of our trail-blazing MediaAccess TC4400 DOCSIS 3.1 cable device, which enables deployment of cable gateways that surpass end-user demands for high gigabit speeds.

Embedded Solutions

Visitors learned how a comprehensive tool supplied directly to end-users can help manage and improve network efficiency with Wi-Fi Doctor and W-LAN Controller solutions.
