Director Bernard Émond's first experience with digital postproduction

Technicolor Creative Services Montreal is proud to have provided complete postproduction services on Bernard Émond’s new feature-length film, All That You Possess

Technicolor Creative Services Montreal is proud to have provided complete postproduction services on Bernard Émond’s new feature-length film, All That You Possess (English version of Tout ce que tu possèdes). Produced by Bernadette Payeur of the ACPAV (the cooperative audiovisual production association), this film marks the famous director’s first experience with digital postproduction.

Technicolor accompanied Bernard Émond and his team from the very beginning of preproduction, when they were seeking the right visual method that most closely replicated the quintessential look of 35‑mm film. After a series of tests, Bernard Émond and director of photography Sarah Mishara found a perfect balance between the photochemical process for shooting and a digital process in postproduction. “When it came to finishing the film, Technicolor’s team took great care of Bernard Émond and Sarah Mishara. She worked alongside Bernard, gaining his trust as she accompanied him with this new technology. Bernard was apprehensive at first about switching to the new technology, but now he’s a total convert,” affirmed producer Bernadette Payeur.

From the very first rushes, through colorization and mixing, and all the way to the movie distribution, Bernard Émond and Sarah Mishara worked steadily with Technicolor’s artists for over four months to digitally bring their film to life. “Nico Ilies, the colorist, put in a tremendous amount of time and ingenuity, and in the end he was able to meet Bernard Émond’s requirements and expectations—which are quite high, I must say—in terms of the sheer beauty of the image in each of his films,” added Ms. Payeur.

Tout ce que tu possèdes is playing on 11 screens across Quebec and has grossed close to $100,000 since it first hit the theatres.
