Our annual round-up of Halloween scares highlights some of the most memorable and mesmerizing work from across Technicolor Creative Studios. Our out-of-this world talent never miss an opportunity to push the boundaries on VFX to up the fear factor or heighten the suspense. Ghostbusters: Afterlife

We’re all excited to see MPC Film’s work on the big screen when Ghostbusters: Afterlife premieres exclusively at cinemas November 18. The new international trailer seen here contains some awesome new shots in the next chapter of the Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife from director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, discover the connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy left behind.

Lisey’s Story

You can currently see MPC Episodic’s award-nominated VFX work in Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story directed by Pablo Larrain. In this terrifying thriller, a series of disturbing events revive memories of a widow’s (Julianne Moore) marriage to a darkness-plagued author (Clive Owen). Nightbooks

Find out how MR. X brought the magic of Nightbooks to life in this Behind the Scenes video. In Nightbooks, a boy obsessed with scary stories is trapped by an evil witch in her magical apartment, where he must tell a spine-tingling tale every night to stay alive. Director David Yarovesky reveals how the witching world of Nightbooks was brought to life, from its immersive neon sets to the movie’s CGI creatures – both cuddly & creepy. Available now on Netflix.

American Horror Story: Double Feature – Season 10 Trailer

MPC re-teamed with FX Networks to bring two colliding worlds together in a promo for this season’s Emmy-winning drama, American Horror Story. The VFX was led by MPC Creative Director Morten Vinther, who says Halloween is one of his favorite times of year as a VFX artist: “Whether we’re dealing with aliens, vampires, monsters, zombies, or the paranormal, VFX has always been the go-to for bringing these things to life in a believable way.” Check it out here and feel the horror.

Trick or Treat? To mark the occasion of Halloween, MPC has opened its ‘vault’ of horror magic to reveal how they bring to life the visions of storytellers … and sometimes their darkest nightmares! Take a look at some of their hair-raising work and tricks of the trade.

Then reward yourself with the perfect treat that MPC makes look dangerously tempting.

The Mill is celebrating the Halloween season by revisiting some of their frighteningly favorite collaborations. The look back features ‘Movie Night with Casper the Friendly Ghost’ for Geico – where an unlikely haunting interrupts a couple's romantic night in. The Mill collaborated with Director Wayne McClammy of Hungry Man Productions and The Martin Agency on this ghostly spot, providing VFX and Color.
