First online edition is set for May 4-6.

Teams from across Technicolor’s creative studios are taking part in FMX’s first online edition, a virtual event for the global FMX community to showcase their most innovative projects and artistic talents.
From May 4-6, the FMX event will be the place to virtually connect for live sessions, on-demand presentations, and live Q&A sessions, all under the theme of “ReImagine Tomorrow” – as the past year has challenged the entire industry to reinvent itself.

Mikros Animation

Learn the “Animation Secret Formula” behind The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. The animation team at Mikros Animation invites you to discover how the most famous Sponge in the world and his mates came to life in a visual feast of color, comedy and animated fun. Followed by a live Q&A with Jacques Daigle, Animation Supervisor on the film. Tuesday, May 4 | 4:30 pm | ROOM M

In the Studio Insights track, you can meet Andrea Miloro, President of Mikros Animation. For those interested in the business side of the industry, this track delves into topics from the executive’s perspective, in an informal conversational format. In this Creature Feature, MR. X’s creative team behind the VFX discuss ‘Building Beasts and Worlds in Monster Hunter‘ – Paul W.S. Anderson's cinematic adaption of the wildly popular video game. Get an in-depth look from the team who partnered on everything from creative development to perfecting the look of Capcom’s famous monsters for their larger-than-life film debut. Live Q&A to follow. MPC Film

Legends Collide, as MPC Film’s VFX team pulls back the curtain on the visual effects and animation work behind one of the most monstrously epic scenes in Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Godzilla vs Kong. The team reveals the creative and technical achievements behind the next chapter in the cinematic monsterverse – followed by a live Q&A. MPC Episodic

The Creation of Sky/HBO’s The Third Dayis revealed as MPC Episodic & Foundry join forces to present the VFX breakdown. The first part of the session will show the extensive compositing work on the series using Foundry's Nuke, while the second part will cover MPC Episodic’s experience using Nuke, best practices and challenges, and the future of Episodic in VFX. Moving Picture Company

MPC will be hosting Building Lexus’ Vision of the Future in Real-time, a presentation on its Lexus ‘Electrified’ campaign created during COVID. Tour the team’s virtual set as they share the experience of running remote sessions while working in Unreal Engine, and doing scene assembly, optimization and procedural workflows in Houdini.
