Paris Images 2021 Brings Together the French Audiovisual and Film Industry in an Online Edition

Join Mikros experts at the all-digital Paris Images 2021 – the only umbrella festival for the audiovisual and film industry in France.

For eight years, Paris Images festival has been the annual rendezvous of the audiovisual and film industry in France. Under its umbrella of five events, complementary themes will be explored this year as professionals discuss the changes, mutations, and challenges of the sector in the face of the health crisis – and how to adapt, innovate, advance, produce and reinvent oneself.

From January 25 to 29, 2021, attendees will be offered, in a 100% online edition, quality conferences on:

  • Visual effects with the Paris Images Digital Summit (PIDS);
  • The production and shooting ecosystem with the Paris Images Production Forum;
  • Technological innovations for cinema images with the Paris Images AFC Events;
  • The role played by French technicians throughout the filmmaking process with the Paris Images L'Industrie Du Rêve; and
  • The Paris Images Conferences organized by CNC, Film France, CST and FICAM organizations.

As every year, Mikros will participate in the festival through case study presentations, talks, and roundtables:

  • Available January 25 on PIDS On-Demand platform, a case study on ‘Heat’ by Perrier, presented by Fabrice Damolini, Franck Lambertz, Stephane Pivron, Christophe Courgeau and Harry Bardak.
  • On Jan 27 at 3pm CET, Beatrice Bauwens, Head of Mikros VFX, will moderate a roundtable organized by CST and FICAM, on 8K and its impact on content production and environment.
  • On January 28, from 2pm to 3pm CET, the Mikros MPC team will host #MotionInMotion – a talk on Motion Design.
  • On January 29, from 10am to 11am CET, Julien Meesters, CEO of Mikros, will participate in a roundtable on Remote Production and the new reality of work organization, from a workflow and human resources perspective, to which the studios had to adapt in the face of the COVID crisis.

As part of the event, the Digital Creation GENIE Awards ceremony will be streamed on January 27 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm CET. This year, Mikros is shortlisted in:

  • The Best Visual Effects in a Feature Film category and Best Environment category for Goodbye Morons, directed by Albert Dupontel;
  • The Best Visual Effects in a Commercial category for Perrier – ‘HEAT’, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga;and
  • The Best Character/Creature category for Vittel – ‘Biodiversity’, directed by Vincent Lobelle.
