Technicolor and Mikros Host ‘Ordinary Landscapes’ – First Private Art Exhibition at Paris Headquarters

Re-imagined as an experience blending photography, painting and digital art, the exhibition ends with an interactive video mapping – developed by Mikros artists – on the rooftop of the building.

Mikros and Technicolor recently invited their customers and partners to the private opening of an art exhibition, 'Ordinary Landscapes,’ at their eponymous rue du Renard headquarters – giving them the opportunity to discover the new offices at the very center of Paris.

Renard is intrinsically a creative house where visions are brought to life through images and the creativity of hundreds of people, and where ideas and innovation are sourced on a daily basis. This exhibition illustrates the group’s strong impetus to open the building to other artists and new artistic influences.

‘Ordinary Landscapes’ is Mikros’ first collaboration with Guillaume Hebert and is built upon the combination of two hybrid photography series, ‘Updated Landscape’ and ‘Beyond The Ordinary,’ from the artist’s travels to Taiwan, Shanghai and Berlin. ‘Updated Landscape’ redefines the way environments are perceived in their aesthetics and brings a perspective to the discrepancy between the vision of a yesteryear painter and a contemporary photographer. ‘Beyond the Ordinary’ is the continuation of the previous series that illustrates with humor and irony how contemporary societies have extricated themselves from natural environments.

The artistic approach of Guillaume Hebert resonates with the artists of Mikros and what they do: creating stories through pieces of images, gathered together to make movies. Similar to their everyday work, Hebert’s work relies on observation, outdoor shooting, compositing, reframing, in-depth study of lights and colors, grading – with the final intent to blur the difference between photography and painting, to create the feeling that everything is real.

More than a traditional exhibition, where visitors stand back from the works and the walls are the only means of display, ‘Ordinary Landscapes’ has been re-imagined by Mikros as an experience. Upon Hebert’s approval to play with his work, the exhibition blends photography, painting and digital art – and ends with an interactive video mapping – developed by Mikros artists – on the glass structure atop the building.

During an exclusive interview with Mikros, Guillaume Hebert commented on his collaboration with the team:

“Ordinary Landscapes is my first collaboration with a company. I was introduced to Mikros by Delphine Rodet, Executive Producer at Mikros MPC, who I first met at the 2018 Festival ‘Circulation(s)’ in Paris as part of the artistic board, and then by Julien Vallet, Brand Manager at Mikros group, whose open-mindedness convinced me to trust the team. I felt that our differences would enrich my point of view…On the opening day of the exhibition, it was marvelous to discover how they reinterpreted my work and it pushed further my imagination. This was a rewarding adventure!”
