Technicolor Connected Home and Net Lynk have teamed up to make Wi-Fi 6 gateways and extenders available to internet service providers (ISPs) in the United Kingdom.

Technicolor Connected Home, known as Vantiva, and Net Lynk have teamed up to make Wi-Fi 6 gateways and extenders available to internet service providers (ISPs) in the United Kingdom. This will provide the first opportunity for consumers in the United Kingdom to benefit from the extended in-home wireless coverage and enhanced reliability that Wi-Fi 6 brings to the table.

“The past 18 months have demonstrated the critical role that internet service providers (ISPs) in the UK play in the connected lives of subscribers across the country,” says Giovanni Tumino, Vice President, Technicolor Connected Home, UK Ireland, Central South Europe, and EMEA Distribution. “The Wi-fi 6 extenders and gateways from Technicolor Connected Home that Net Lynk is making available to select ISPs will meet the demand for the growing number of devices that require internet access to meet the rising needs of British consumers.”

This is the latest development in Technicolor Connected Home’s ongoing commitment to leveraging open and innovative technologies for service providers around the world. The ultimate goal is to help service providers deliver seamless connectivity and premium entertainment experiences to consumers by creating best-in-class CPE and partnering with the most innovative companies in the connected home ecosystem.

“The deployment of fully managed, plug and play Wi-Fi 6 extenders across the UK represents an important first step to supporting ISPs in delivering solutions that enhance connectivity in the home,” says Mark Fletcher, Director for Net Lynk. “As investments are made in last-mile access technologies such as fiber to the home to support demand for higher bandwidth, Wi-Fi 6 enabled extenders improve the management of multiple devices and enhance connectivity throughout the home. Working with Technicolor Connected Home, Net Lynk has continued to evolve its CPE offer to enable UK ISPs to offer the highest level of service for Broadband customers.”

The Wi-Fi 6 standard was developed to support the growing number of devices within households in densely populated environments. It eliminates interference and other issues that have impeded the performance of previous generations of wireless local-area networking technologies.

Depending on the size and configuration of homes across the UK, ISPs can utilize a distributed architecture consisting of a central gateway and extenders to optimize high-quality coverage and access to internet resources. Wi-Fi 6 technology also reduces latency, improving the performance of devices, applications and services in the connected home environment.

Net Lynk Group is a privately owned company based in Birmingham, UK and has been active for over 20 years. Growing year on year, Net Lynk is a leading UK provider of order fulfilment, distribution and remote management services for Broadband CPE. As such, Net Lynk has developed strong relationships with some of the country’s largest organizations, from Internet service providers, to telecommunication companies.
