Technicolor Customers at 64th Primetime/Creative Arts Emmy Nominations

American Horror Story received 17 nominations, with two episodes of the series receiving nominations for sound mixing – both delivered by Technicolor’s team at our new Paramount Studios’ facility.  Technicolor’s sound team members receiving nominations for their creative contributions include:

• Gary Megregian, Supervising Sound Editor
• Steve M. Stuhr, Dialogue Editor
• Jason Krane, Dialogue Editor
• Jason Lezama, Dialogue Editor
• Timothy Cleveland, Sound Effects Editor
• Bruce Tanis, Sound Effects Editor
• Simon Coke, Foley Editor
• Lance Wiseman, Dialogue Editor

And:

• Joe Earle, Dialogue/Music Re-Recording Mixer
• Doug Andham, Sound Effects Re-Recording Mixer

Likewise, Mad Men also lead the way with 17 nominations, and with Christopher Manley, ASC nominated for the show’s cinematography.  Technicolor’s Tim Vincent performed dailies and final color grading for the series. These two series garnered the most nominations of any broadcast shows receiving nominations for this year’s Emmys, announced on Thursday morning in Los Angeles.

Boardwalk Empire and Game Change each garnered 12 nominations. Game Change was directed by Jay Roach.  This dramatic feature was photographed by Jim Denault, ASC, and color-graded by Technicolor’s theatrical senior colorist Michael Hatzer.  Boardwalk Empire was photographed by cinematographer Jonathan Freeman, ASC.  The series’ final-color grading was performed by Technicolor New York’s Martin Zeichner.

Technicolor customers dominated the coveted nominations for Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series (with three of the five nominations), including: Mike and Molly, photographed by Gary Baum, with final color grading chores performed by Technicolor’s Steve Arkle.  Gary Baum was also nominated for shooting the series pilot of 2 Broke Girls. Two and a Half Men was photographed by cinematographer Steven Silver, ASC, and finished at Technicolor

The Big Bang Theory was nominated for Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series, with final color grading chores delivered by Technicolor’s Hollywood team.
