Do Robots Dream of Electric Rams? – featuring Anthony Bloor, MPC Advertising in London (April 24, 10:45am - 11:45am). MPC Head of 3D Anthony Bloor presents a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the lonely robot for Edeka ‘Christmas 2117’ and a confident little ram for VW ‘Born Confident.’

Discussion: State of the VFX Industry – an open discussion about the state of the industry all over the globe – will also include MPC’s Anthony Bloor (April 27, 12pm – 1:00pm).

► Recruiting Presentations – with Garreth Gaydon, Head of Talent, The Mill (April 25, 10:00am - 10:30am); with Michael Farrell, Head of Talent Acquisition for MPC Film in London (April 25, 2:30pm – 3:00pm).

Replicating Rachael for Blade Runner 2049featuring Axel Akesson, MPC Film (April 25, 11:30am - 12:15pm). MPC Assets Supervisor Axel Akesson details how his team created the photoreal Rachael character for Blade Runner 2049, which many have called the most realistic CG character to date. Never seen before material will include the tests shown to the filmmakers.

Working with GMUNK to Imagine the A5 and a Futuristic Dreamscape for Audi – featuring The Mill’s Alex Hammond and Dan Yargici (April 26, 10:30am – 11:30am). The Mill Deputy Head of 3D Alex Hammond and The Mill 3D Artist Dan Yargici take the audience on a journey through their process of visualizing the way artificial intelligence might perceive, conceive, and create a car for Audi.  

The Shape of Water: Bringing The Amphibian Man to Lifefeaturing Trey Harrell, MR. X (April 26, 10:45am - 11:45am). Guillermo del Toro's Oscar-winning The Shape of Water seamlessly merged practical and digital effects. From initial clay sculpts to rendering and compositing, MR. X VFX Supervisor Trey Harrell will explore the techniques and methodologies used through every step of the pipeline to bring the film’s Amphibian leading man to life.  

The FX of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – featuring David Schneider, MPC Film (April 27, 9:30am - 10:30am). MPC FX Lead David Schneider will explain how the MPC team worked with the directors and Production VFX Supervisor to craft stunning visual effects, including epic ship battles, Captain Salazar and his motley crew of sailors, ghost sharks, and various environments – ultimately delivering 1200 shots for the smash hit movie.
