Technicolor Helps NSPs Deliver On The Promise of HDR

Technicolor recently hosted a webinar about HDR challenges and opportunities for NSPs.

  • HDR delivers exciting and compelling entertainment experiences and rich visual content.
  • Technicolor helps NSPs enable fast and successful consumer adoption of HDR.

As a network service provider, you must deliver the best and most consistent content experience regardless of device or format.  Now comes HDR, and its promise of more dynamic, more vibrant and more lifelike digital entertainment everywhere.

HDR provides many opportunities for NSPs, and Technicolor recently hosted a webinar designed to help NSPs enable quick, smooth consumer adoption of new and immersive content experiences. The key is being able to provide immediate access to consistent HDR experiences for viewers who have made the transition to this new technology, with seamless integration across networks and devices.

The webinar featured two main speakers from Technicolor:  Josh Limor, VP Technology and Ecosystem Development, and Brian Jentz, Senior Director Product Management, Technicolor Connected Home.  Attendees learned about what HDR is and how it works. In addition to this technical overview, attendees discovered how to leverage the opportunities of the exciting and emerging HDR market – while at the same time continuing to serve their SDR customers in a single stream, boosting distribution efficiency, and eliminating the need for costly infrastructure upgrades.

The speakers discussed how, with open HDR technology, NSPs have the potential to transform the TV viewing experience – and thereby the entire video industry.  They explained how to easily overcome the technical challenges cable operators and other service providers might be concerned about. Some interesting case studies illustrated how service and content providers are starting to leverage HDR’s potential today.
