Technicolor’s Maxine Gervais and The Mill’s Adam Scott Win 2018 HPA Awards for Outstanding Color Grading

Technicolor, The Mill, and MPC artists were nominated once again in multiple categories across features, commercials, and television.

Technicolor Senior Colorist Maxine Gervais has won the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) award for Outstanding Color Grading on a Feature Film – becoming the first woman colorist in Hollywood history to win the prestigious award. Gervais won for her impressive range of work on Alpha, from director Albert Hughes.

“It was so exciting to be nominated – and now win – for Outstanding Color Grading on Alpha,” said Gervais. “This was a passion project and I am very proud of what we have created – a world that has not been interfered with human activity, just beauty in all of its glory.”

Also winning an HPA award this year is Technicolor’s creative studio The Mill, for Outstanding Color Grading on a Commercial. The award went to The Mill’s Head of Color, Adam Scott, for his exceptional work on Volkswagen’s “Kid’s Dream.

Technicolor, The Mill, and MPC talent were nominated for a total of five HPA Awards this year. The HPA Awards support creative artistry in post-production and recognize the achievements of talent, innovation, and engineering excellence across the media industry.

The winners were announced at the 13th Annual HPA Awards ceremony held November 15 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

A highlight of the ceremony was HPA's Charles S. Swartz Award, which went to Victoria Alonso, Producer and Executive VP, Production at Marvel Studios, for her many industry contributions.
