Technicolor Opens The “Technicolor Experience Center”

The TEC will develop content, platforms and technology for immersive experience media applications.

As the emerging field of VR, AR, and other immersive applications evolves at an accelerating pace, Technicolor has announced the launch of the Technicolor Experience Center.  The center is tasked with developing high-end content, platforms and technology for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and other immersive media applications.

Based in Culver City, California, the center will be led by entertainment industry veteran Marcie Jastrow, who has been named Senior Vice President of Immersive Media for Technicolor.  The purpose-built space enables Technicolor staff, partners and customers to engage in cutting edge projects where teams of artists, engineers, researchers and technologists develop and enhance the latest production, postproduction and distribution solutions for immersive experiences across entertainment, advertising, and other commercial applications.

The launch of the Technicolor Experience Center is just the latest Technicolor initiative as the company continues its mission to bring a wide range of technologies and rich entertainment experiences to market. Over the past year, Technicolor has been exploring the key issues and problems associated with creating and delivering immersive experiences for consumers at home and on the go.  The center represents the next step in this process. The emerging field of VR and other immersive media experiences offers the potential to bring together creativity and technology unlike ever before.

“The Technicolor Experience Center will harness Technicolor’s relationships across the value-chain of content development, distribution and consumption to fulfill the creative promise of these exciting immersive mediums,” said Jastrow.
