Technicolor at Paramount Studios Opens

Talent, technique, timing & technology highlight the facility the new Technicolor post facility at Paramount

Technicolor’s new state-of-the-art sound post production facility on the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood, has opened and commenced theatrical and broadcast re-recording/mixing work on a number of high profile projects.

Located on Avenue L in the center of the Paramount lot, the new Technicolor post facility is spread over three floors and 65,000 square feet. It has been meticulously designed with precise attention paid to every detail, choosing the right technology and keeping it consistent throughout, achieving optimum acoustics on the stages, as well as installing worldwide connectivity capabilities through the Technicolor Production Network (TPN). The new facility provides Technicolor customers with the most comfortable, immersive work environment in Hollywood.

Technicolor at Paramount has been designed to be completely compatible from stage-to-stage, giving filmmakers the greatest flexibility in moving a project throughout our entire facility. Consistent with all of our stages, the two flagship theatres feature Euphonix System 5 consoles with Eucon hybrid protocol. In addition, both stages are capable of mixing multiple formats, including IMAX. Each room is custom designed with six sound editorial workstations. Adjoining each stage are five editorial suites, private client lounges, a conference room and kitchen

Technicolor at Paramount is fully compliant with MPAA guidelines and includes eight high-tech mix stages; three ADR stages; one Foley stage; sound design and editorial suites; DVD audio and restoration rooms; three layback rooms and numerous client lounges and kitchens.

The heart of the facility is our tremendous team of creative professionals who are dedicated to bringing pictures to life with sound and pushing the envelope whenever possible. Our creative team has collaborated with the top directors and producers in the theatrical and broadcast worlds -- and has been honored with a number of Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Cinema Audio Society Awards and MPSE Golden Reel Awards.
