Technicolor’s Mr. X, MPC, & The Mill Win VES Awards

Annual VES Awards honor Technicolor talent.

The awards season honors talent, Technicolor’s clients and its own, for creating great stories.  Always empowering storytellers, today’s visual effects represent the perfect harmony of creative artists and innovative technologies to bring these memorable experiences to life.  Technicolor’s visual effects studios are proud to have received 18 nominations and 5 wins at the 14th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards.

The Visual Effects Society (VES) is a global professional honorary society and the entertainment industry's only organization representing the full breadth of visual effects practitioners including artists, technologists, model makers, educators, studio executives, supervisors, PR/marketing specialists and producers. VES’ over 3,000 members in more than 30 countries worldwide contribute to all areas of entertainment – film, television, commercials, animation, music videos, games and new media.  

Mr. X started the night off on a high note, taking home the first award of the evening in “Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode” for their work on Vikings; To the Gates.

The Mill took home 3 statues this year all for their work on SSE's Pier.  They won for “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Commercial,” “Outstanding Animated Performance in an Episode, Commercial, or Real-Time Project” and “Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Commercial.”

MPC was honored with “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project” for their work on the Fast and Furious: Supercharged experience at Universal Studios Hollywood and their 2D artist Andreas Feix won the best “Student Project” award for his film Citipati.
