Technicolor VFX Brands Work Their Holiday Magic

Top agencies turn to Technicolor’s The Mill and MPC for their festive holiday ads.
  • MPC worked on seasonal campaigns for Kohl’s, Mercedes-Benz, McDonald’s, John Lewis, and more.
  • The Mill’s list of holiday campaigns includes Burberry, Coach, H&M, HP, and Lincoln.

With the holidays in full swing, Technicolor’s award-winning VFX studios The Mill and MPC are busier than Santa’s workshop. It’s the time of year when popular brands want to add a little extra wonder and enchantment to their holiday-inspired advertising campaigns, and visual effects are high on the list for those wanting to stand out from the crowd.

Many of the industry’s top agencies trust Technicolor during this critical time of year, turning to The Mill and MPC for VFX-enhanced holiday ads that often signal the brand’s identity for the coming New Year. For MPC, that included work on Kohl’s Give a Little More campaign (by Lance Acord, Park Pictures, and Anomaly), which brings CG-animated characters to festive life in various holiday scenarios. MPC ran through the gamut of their offerings for the campaign, developing characters from start to finish.

MPC’s VFX team also collaborated on a number of other high-profile holiday campaigns, including Mercedes-Benz, McDonald’s, and John Lewis.

Among the many campaigns that The Mill worked on this holiday season is the much talked about spot for London’s Heathrow Airport. Coming Home for Christmas (by dom&nic, Outsider, and Havas) follows an elderly teddy bear couple as they arrive home for the holidays. The Mill’s VFX team collaborated on the animation that propels the tender narrative as the senior bears steadily make their way through the airport at the height of the busy travel season.

In addition to Heathrow, The Mill worked on equally impressive holiday campaigns for well-known brands such as Burberry, Coach, H&M, HP, and Lincoln, among others.
