The MediaAccess TG799n v2 recognized as “Best Interconnected Device or CPE”

Paris (France), 27 May 2011 - Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH) was awarded in the category “Best Interconnected Device or CPE” at Connected Home Global Summit 2011, held in London this week. This event gathered the industry's most innovative operators, broadcasters, content owners and distributors, device manufacturers, software and component manufacturers to identify the technology choices and business models that will monetise the connected home. These awards honour excellence and innovation for products and services which deliver on the promise of the Digital Home.

The MediaAccess TG799n v2 is a future proof and high performance broadband gateway providing incredible speed, openness and connectivity at a reduced total cost of ownership. It is an ideal solution for operators with mixed technology networks – ADSL2+, VDSL2 and fibre- as it is able to automatically detect the type of access network, and self-configure and optimize itself.

Its optimized architecture and DLNA certification allows NSPs to offer sophisticated, bandwidth-hungry services such as online gaming, multiple high definition (HD) video streams and real time media sharing.

The MediaAccess TG799n v2 is core powered by the latest Technicolor Digital Home Software with OSGi enabling demanding own & 3rd party applications and services. It can be remotely monitored with tailored live diagnostics and management from the network.

In terms of connectivity, the product has an embedded high speed WiFi 802.11n wireless access point to allow full mobility and flexibility throughout the home and is equipped with dual concurrent WiFi, allowing separate data and video channels for optimal user experience. The MediaAccess TG799n v2 is also equipped with DECT, ensuring the highest quality for voice conversations at home.

The TG799n v2 has been developed with an ecodesign methodology to achieve the best possible energy efficiency to minimize environmental impact.
