The film follows a former international spy (Sean Penn) who must clear his name in order to save himself from the organization that he used to work for.
The film stars an impressive cast including Academy Award Winner Sean Penn, Javier Bardem, Mark Rylance, Ray Winstone and Idris Elba to name a few and is based on the international best selling novel ‘The Prone Gunman’ by Jean-Patrick Manchette.
Jean-Clément Soret, working at Technicolor, completed the grade over three weeks with DP Flavio Labiano and Director Pierre Morel. “We had complete creative freedom for the grade, particularly when enhancing the sodium lit city of Kinshasa, day for night sequences, a gritty London pub, sleek and cold offices and hot and dusty African scenes and more…. As well as doing high precision work detail on faces, and adding atmosphere to create full impact on the action scenes. Each sequence has a clearly defined look that structures the narrative of the film”.
The Gunman is out in cinemas across the UK from March 2015.
