A key player on the Technicolor team since 2003 and head-colourist of the digital intermediate division, Nico Ilies brings an impressive portfolio to the task. From Paris to Munich, Toronto to LA, this master of color has traveled the world in pursuit of excellence in his field and made Montreal his home.

His teachers are his clients and he considered himself very fortunate to have the chance to work with so many creative artists. Seeing his work as a form of art, Nico draws creative inspiration from art, photography and design books. Some of his inspirational talents are Robert Frank, Bruce Davidson, Todd Hido, Jan Saudek, Joel Meyerowitz, John J. Muth, Philip-Lorca di Corcia, Gregory Crewdson, Ernst Haas and Edward Hopper.

Winner of the daVinci Master Colorist of the Year 2004 for his work on Confession of a Dangerous Mind, Nico is the artist behind the look of renowned Canadian films such as The Auction, Louis Cyr, Les affames, Pieds nus dans l'aube and La disparition des lucioles.

Some of his Hollywood films credits include The Aviator, The Greatest Game Ever Played and The Fountain, working together with the cinematographers to establish the colour script. Some of his International credits include What if, Serena, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, X500 and The Bleeder.
