Pierre Houeix received the engineering degree from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Informatique et Mathématiques Appliquées de Grenoble” (ENSIMAG) in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree from the “Insitut National Polytechnique de Grenoble” (INPG) in 1988 on performance evaluation of parallel system for image processing and database. Then, he joined the “Laboratoires Electroniques de Rennes” in Thomson and contributed, from 1988 to 1997, to advanced image analysis applications, image processing software and interactive TV systems as project leader then group manager. From 1997 to 2000, he was the middleware batch leader of a satellite digital decoder project in the Thomson Multimedia set-top-box business unit. Then, he came back to Thomson Corporate Research to lead a multi-sites advanced program to design a HD video wireless transmission chipset. From 2003 to 2009, he animated, as Director of Technology, the Networking research activity across the Thomson Corporate Research worldwide labs. He is currently managing the Immersive lab of the Technicolor Research & Innovation center in Rennes.
