Technicolor demonstrates the industry’s first G.fast Smart Gateway at the 2014 BroadBand World Forum

Visit Technicolor’s demonstration room # D508 in the Elicium building to discover how G.fast technology can enable the next wave of connected life and augmented consumer viewing experiences!

At the BroadBand World Forum, the world’s largest broadband event, Technicolor showcased the world’s first wireless 802.11ac 4x4 Smart Ultra Broadband Gateway integrating G.fast technology.

With this cutting edge solution, Technicolor opens up a whole array of new business opportunities and makes the next immersive viewing experience - such as 4K video streaming -  a reality, with the fidelity consumers are waiting for.

G.fast is surely the most promising technology for telecom operators looking to increase bitrates at the lowest costs to answer the skyrocketing end-user demand for bandwidth, and to compete with alternative broadband access technologies such as Cable, Fiber and LTE. Indeed this technology will accelerate the delivery of high-bandwidth services such as 4K/UHD video streaming or value-added connected home applications.

Once again Technicolor confirms its decade long front running position in DSL technologies (e.g. initialization protocol, deployments of bonding/vectoring,…) and ultra-broadband, not only by proposing innovative solutions that answer new and future usages but also by actively participating in defining the technology standard.
