The Virtual Reality LA Expo (VRLA) is right around the corner - April 14th & 15th – and Technicolor is excited to be a part of the world’s premiere VR and AR event. Come see what Technicolor is up to, including a multitude of speaking sessions, content demos, and a motion capture presentation.
Marcie Jastrow, SVP of Immersive Media and Head of the Technicolor Experience Center, will be presenting during HP’s “Special Announcement” on April 15th at 10:30am, followed by participation in their “Gearing Up for VR” at 2:30pm. Technicolor’s panel “Bringing Together the Pieces of Wonder Buffalo: How Artistry and Technology Connect Users to Socially Aware Storytelling” (April 14 at 3:30pm) brings together a few of the project’s creators and contributors – including Technicolor’s Brian Frager and Scott Gershin – to discuss how melding photogrammetry, animation, and immersive sound connects users to the protagonist and her journey.
Then visit the Technicolor booth, where you can experience Wonder Buffalo for yourself, along with other immersive VR experiences from Technicolor’s award-winning VFX brands. These include The Mill’s Strata, an interactive biofeedback experience, Passengers: Awakening from MPC Film VR and Kygo’s VR music video for his song Carry Me from MPC.
At the Technicolor booth, you can also check out a motion capture (MoCap) stage, featuring Vicon’s industry-standard precision motion capture systems. The TEC and Vicon are partnering to combine VR tracking and motion capture in interactive form at VRLA. Vicon will also be Technicolor’s partner providing cameras for the custom-built stage at the Technicolor Experience Center (TEC).
